By now, you’ve probably seen or heard about the Las Vegas Sphere. This $2.3 billion tech marvel holds the world's largest high-definition screen, nearly 20 times the size of the largest IMAX screen! It also has 167,000 speakers to create an incredibly immersive experience 🔊🎥🌐

But projecting images and shows in a spherical format at an ultra-high resolution isn’t easy; new tech had to be developed to make it work. It’s a camera called ‘Big Sky’ - and it’s impressive!

📞 We didn’t know we needed a Positivity Phone in our lives until we saw Rebekah’s invention last week! Rebekah Bastian is one of our Explorers, SVP of Product at Glowforge, and a tinkerer at heart!

Recently, one of her friends moved into a 1950’s house with a phone nook in the hallway, and she had a lightbulb moment. Why not hack a vintage rotary phone so that when you pick up the headset, it tells you how amazing you are? 🤩

To bring her concept to life, she got one of those little speaker boxes that go inside talking stuffed animals, wired the speaker into the headset, and the play button into the hook switch. Finally, she adapted it so it could run on batteries.

Honestly, one of our favorite pieces of fun tech we’ve seen!

Simone Giertz (pronounced ‘yetch’) is a Swedish inventor, tinkerer and product designer, known for creating unique solutions to everyday problems.

She created her store, YETCH, after years of prototyping and one too many “How is this not a thing? This should totally be a thing.”
