Hey Explorers!

Ninety-one percent of marketing teams now run on AI, and two-thirds are quietly building their own tools on hours nobody budgeted. Last month 41% of workers got handed a finished-looking AI draft that took two hours to fix and saved the sender about twenty minutes. Meanwhile, Meta's Muse keeps filling in forms after you close the app, and OpenAI wants the next ad click to open a chat with a brand instead of your site…

Here's the signal that matters 👇🏼

🗞️ TECH & TRENDS | Who’s Doing the Work

⏱️ They Expected AI to Make Them 24% Faster. It Made Them 19% Slower In late 2025, METR put experienced developers on real tasks with and without AI — they predicted a 24% speedup, came out 19% slower, and still walked away believing the tools had helped. BetterUp Labs and Stanford call the finished-looking junk "workslop" — 41% of workers got some last month, and sorting it took almost two hours while the sender saved about twenty minutes. The homebrew tools feel like efficiency. They're unpaid software work, billed against the brand work nobody's doing instead. (Growth Memo)

🤖 Muse Negotiates Your Bill. Then It Keeps Going You message Muse in the app or WhatsApp to negotiate a bill, book travel, or turn a saved Instagram recipe into a grocery list, and it opens a browser and fills the forms itself. It runs in Meta's cloud, keeps working after you close the app, and comes back when something changes, or it needs approval before an email or a purchase. Meta built it for everyday goals. Judgment stays with you; the busywork doesn't. (Meta)

💬 Wayfair's Next Ad Click Never Reaches Wayfair Digiday saw OpenAI's new ad format in action and confirmed Wayfair is in the Sponsored Agent pilot: the CTA reads something like "Chat with us," and the click drops you into a branded conversation with the advertiser's agent inside ChatGPT — no landing page, no site visit. OpenAI's CFO called today's under-the-response ads the "basic starting point" before a format that feels endemic to AI. Advertisers still say ChatGPT ads are promising and mostly unproven on ROI. The platform that owns the conversation may not need your site for the first pitch. (Digiday)

📬 Klaviyo Opened the CRM. You Don't Need the Login Klaviyo opened 260+ agent-ready MCP tools that lets agents talk to apps, and 490+ APIs so a marketer (or an agent) can read, write, and go live from Claude, ChatGPT, or whatever they already use, without opening Klaviyo. Brands are already wiring live Klaviyo data into Cursor dashboards and posting weekly performance reviews straight to Slack. Plain-language questions now turn into SQL against the brand's own data, with the query returned so you can check the work. Customer Agent has already exchanged more than 1.3 million messages and is adding voice next. (Klaviyo)

📊 Anthropic Built Three Futures for Your 2030 Paycheck Ask more than 10,000 Americans where this goes and the typical answer lands on Anthropic's "substantial" scenario: AI doing half of knowledge work, GDP growing at twice the normal rate, and knowledge-worker wages going exactly nowhere. Extreme needs recursively improving systems, GDP growth around 15% a year, knowledge wages down more than 10%, unemployment past normal recession levels. Anthropic's Economics team built an interactive explorer for how AI might hit US jobs by 2030. The question is which future your hiring plan is actually accounting for. (Anthropic)

🎓 MIT Can't Tell Who Actually Learned Anything Anymore MIT's AI-in-teaching committee found students already use generative AI constantly, instructors range from enthusiastic to flat refusal, and nobody can reliably tell what a student learned versus what they prompted. That is the same problem managers have: telling who on the team learned the tool versus who's prompting through it. Their call is not a ban. Every course needs an AI-aware rethink of goals and assessment, with clear policies and a bias toward augmentation over automation. Same brief for your training plan: spell out where AI is required, allowed, or off-limits, and keep the productive struggle human. The chatbot is not a substitute for either. (MIT)

The hours never made the dashboard. The personal agent keeps working after you leave. The ad click never reaches your site.

Who's paying for the tools your team builds on the side? If the click never reaches your site, what's the site for?

We've trained over a thousand senior executives and business owners, hands-on, on how to optimize AI in their organizations and personal lives.

Fifty execs just left a build-a-thon we facilitated last week with tools they built themselves, not slideware.

One consulting client put Grok Bot on outbound and sales ops and changed how the team runs their pipeline.

Another leadership cohort walked out with actionable plays and an AI foundation the whole org can run and ship with this week.

That’s the work we do with leadership teams. Hit us up. We can help.

Signal over noise. Always.
