Hey Explorers!
Picture this: you lose all your gear 20 seconds into a game, you message support, and you get back about 10 replies meant for other players... with the ChatGPT prompts still attached.
Oh, and someone paid $60 for two humanoid robots to clean their San Francisco home. They got through most of ONE floor before the batteries needed swapping... and a person back at the office was steering each one.
Here's the signal that matters 👇🏼

🎮 A Player Messaged Support. The Reply Came With the ChatGPT Prompts
An Arc Raiders player lost a full loadout of gear and asked support for help. Back came about 10 replies meant for other players, prompts and all: "Create a short response." "Ask screenshot of current skill trees." Their own reply opened with "we understand your frustration" and said the gear was gone. AI on support is fine. Somebody just has to read it before hitting send. (GamesRadar+)
🧹 Two Humanoids Cleaned Her Home for $60. They Got Through 80% of One Floor
Tau Robotics sent two humanoids, Sergey and Chelsea, to clean a San Francisco home for an hour. They vacuumed, mopped and did the toilet before the batteries needed swapping. Humans steered both from the office. Chelsea dropped a toy and lost a fight with a pillow. $30 per robot-hour undercuts local cleaners... when the job actually gets finished. (Corematter)
🩻 Doctors Plus AI Did Worse Than the AI Alone
Italian researchers looked at seven clinical studies where doctors made a call, saw the AI's answer, then made a final decision. The human-plus-AI team beat both sides in only three of them. In the other four, the AI was the stronger reader and the doctors stopped catching its mistakes, so the team scored below the AI on its own. The fix they suggest is simple: make your own call before you see the AI's. (arXiv)
🐢 AI Is Shipping Faster Than Your Team Can Absorb It
McKinsey's 2026 tech trends report has one line worth taping to the monitor: AI is producing breakthroughs "faster than we can absorb them." Its example is code that gets written faster than teams can review, test and deploy it, which fills company systems with brittle code. (McKinsey)
🙈 Your Leaders Use Agents. 41% of Your Team Hides Their AI
Workday surveyed nearly 6,000 workers. 88% of senior leaders have handed a whole task to an AI agent, versus 54% of individual contributors. 41% of AI users deliberately hide their AI use, and only 35% say their company's rules are clear. The people closest to your customers are figuring this out alone... and quietly. (Workday)
🎨 The AI Boom Just Reached Gray Paint
PPG expects its data center paint sales to triple this year. Its fireproof coating swells from 1 millimeter to nearly 10 when torched, and a single building can need $3 million to $8 million of paint. Almost all of it is gray, since hardly anyone goes inside to look. (The New York Times via NWA Democrat-Gazette)
📺 NEW: Purple Horizons TV
We built a little channel on our site! Purple Horizons TV is where we drop hand-picked videos on AI tools, vibe coding, robots, and 3D printing, each with a short take on why we like it. Think of it as our watch-later list... minus the stuff we'd never admit to watching.
This week's pick: Your Local AI Is Not as Private as You Think
Running models on your own machine keeps prompts away from the cloud, but Kai shows where the real risks hide: poisoned weights, chat templates and exposed Ollama ports. Watch it before you give a local agent shell access. (Watch on Purple Horizons TV)
🧠 FINAL THOUGHTS
41% of the AI users on your team are hiding it from you. Not out of malice. They just don't know if they're allowed to say it out loud, so the good stuff never spreads and the sloppy stuff never gets caught.
Your move this week: call an AI timeout. Thirty minutes, no judgment, everyone shows how they actually use AI, prompts included. You'll probably find one workflow worth sharing with everybody... and one going to customers with nobody reading it.
This is exactly why we run buildathons. Purple Horizons facilitates them for executive teams: we bring the tools and the game plan, your leaders build real things, and they walk out knowing what to trust and what to check.
